Dear Friends
Most of us have felt the devastating effects of drug and alcohol abuse. We each have our own personal stories, or experiences of friends and loved ones that show the potentially deadly reach of substance abuse. Drug and alcohol use is now the fourth leading cause of death; contributing to 300% more deaths THAN breast cancer. Among teenagers, drug and alcohol use is the leading factor in fatalities. Just like cancer, heart disease, or diabetes, early detection and treatment of substance abuse can save lives. I would like to introduce you to an organization that has been created for the express purpose of saving lives by helping to get needy individuals into treatment programs before it is too late. You can help us save these lives.
As a counselor since 1985, and the owner of an outpatient substance abuse treatment center since 1999, I have had the opportunity to witness the miracle of recovery many times. I have also seen the frustration, despair, and tragic results when individuals cannot get the treatment they need because they lack the financial resources to battle this disease. It is not uncommon to have a client whose addiction to drugs and/or alcohol has drained them, and their loved ones, physically, spiritually, emotionally and financially. For those clients that do not have proper insurance coverage or financial resources, time waiting for a county or state funded program can mean the difference between life and death.
In order to prevail over the many financial obstacles to treatment coverage, Hope Line, Inc., a not for profit corporation, has established the Hope Line of Credit. This is a donor fund used to subsidize treatment programs for those individuals that have a medical and financial need and a desire to recover. We are currently negotiating with both local and national in-patient treatment facilities to help in this effort as well as raising money to fund the Hope Line of Credit. That is where we need your help.
Hope Line is currently planning a benefit concert on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the State Theatre in Falls Church, VA. We are now in the process of soliciting musicians to perform and would like to invite you to help in this effort. We're planning an awesome show featuring some of the finest musicians in the area.
Please contact me personally if you can help or if you have any questions that you would like to discuss.
Sincerely,
Desi
